The transformative power of human connection, sharing truths, and being vulnerable has always moved me.  My belief in the resilience of the human spirit led me to a career in psychotherapy and social work. I feel honored to walk through the journey of life with clients and witness them experience relief from their inner struggles and learn to take steps to improve their circumstances.

Prior to entering private practice, I worked within residential treatment facilities, outpatient treatment facilities, and inpatient hospitalization providing individual, group, and family therapy. This provided a wealth of experience working with children and adolescents facing a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, suicidal ideation, self injurious behavior, eating disorders, chronic illness and substance abuse.

In addition to working with teens and families, I also really enjoy working with women and new mothers—including providing support during pregnancy as well as postpartum counseling.

My approach is warm, friendly and laidback. As a client centered therapist, I tailor the sessions to your needs. I often take a holistic, psychodynamic approach and compliment it with evidence based skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as needed. I obtained a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child and Family Therapy in Rochester, N.Y. and earned my licensure as a clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of California. In addition, I’ve received training in motivational interviewing, parenting, and couple’s work.
